Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. I'm one of those, "Halloween is a month long affair" kind of gal, with multiple costume changes.
The thing is, Halloween costumes are kind of pricy for terrible smelling fabrics and sometimes scratchy fabrics. According to inhabitat, 170 million Americans will celebrate Halloween by dressing up, and 85% of those costumes will be on their way to a landfill on November 1st.
But, with a little creativity, you can create fun and impressive Halloween costumes through purchasing smaller accessories – and pairing them with fabulous clothing pieces that can be worn outside of Halloween.
To help you create your costume, the plus BKLYN team has put together costume ideas.
1. Kitty
We have a few plus size leopard print dresses and tops that are perfect for a Kitty Halloween costume. Add some ears and a thick black makeup pencil for whiskers, and you're good to go! If you're in a chillier climate, fishnets or leggings will help keep you warm.
2. Witch
This cute plus size little black dress has a fun back with bows up the back, and is perfect for a plus size witch costume! Add a black hat and striped stockings, and if you REALLY want to go all out, a broom!
3. Disco Babe
Move over Cher! This plus size jumpsuit will look great at evening events, and it's perfect for a Cher-inspired costume. Add fake eyelashes and platform heels, and you're ready for the best Halloween ever.
4. Alien
Attention, B movie and SciFi lovers! With this super cute shiny plus size jumpsuit, you can dress up as an alien or switch things up and be space explorer.
5. Care Bear
We love colorful Care Bears, and it's also a great group costume! For the tummy component, feel free to print the graphic in the upper righthand corner on this graphic. This velvet dress will also be great for going out!6. Vampire
We can't stop talking about these leather pants (vegan leather in the front, ponte knit in the back!) can be paired with various tops for different occassions. Pairing it with this white blouse with full sleeves and some vampire fangs, and you're ready for a night on the town!
