Happy Black History Month! If you follow us over on Instagram, then you know we love to share fabulous photos of plus size fashion bloggers and activists on our feed!
For Black History Month, we decided it would be rad to highlight some of our favorite African American and Black Americans for Black History Month. Below you'll find a (totally not comprehensive) list!
1. Constance Smith | @LunaModela
We first met Constance Smith, an afro-latina plus model, a few years ago at an "Instagram Girlfriend" photoshoot at our plus size boutique in Brooklyn. Constance was working on building her portfolio, and has blown up since then – modeling for major brands. Here, Constance is rocking a dress + top from Plus BKLYN!
2. Marie Denee | @MarieDenee
We are such fangirls for Marie Denee, who is basically the Oprah of plus size blogging! Marie started her website, The Curvy Fashionista, almost a decade ago – providing much needed resources and advocacy for the plus size community.
3. Saucye West | @SaucyeWest
We interviewed this fabulous plus size model and mom for our blog, and you can read the full interview here! Saucye is a body positive activist, model and all around boss. She lives in the Bay Area, and we are lowkey obsessed with her eyebrows.
4. Sherece | @FatshionForward
Like Constance, we met Shereece at a Plus BKLYN community event! Shereece splits her time between New York and Florida (sign me up!), and we love how she uses animal print! Here, Shereece is living her best life in a faux fur coat from Plus BKLYN.
5. Nanthalee E. Collins | @NEC_Style
In New York City, image is everything. Nanthalee is a plus size stylist and image/brand consultant, helping curvy ladies put their best foot forward. We love how she's rocking sunglasses from Plus BKLYN in this photo!
6. Jessica | @JessPeachie
We first met Jessica when she came into the shop, looking for fashion forward clothing for her work in advertising. After seeing her rock Plus BKLYN duds, we knew she had to model for us! Jessica is currently building her modeling portfolio in the NYC-area, and she is so much fun to work with onset.
7. Shamika George | @FroPlusFashion
This plus size natural hair blogger is based in Florida, but she is a TRAVELER. We love how she uses color on her Instagram feed, and she is definitely one to watch in 2019.
